E-books

The future of publishing are e-books. Why do I make this claim? It's because of the transition from the industrial age to the digital age. In the industrial age, mass produced paper based books were the means of publication. In the digital age, mass produced digital based books are the means of publication. If we are in the transition from the industrial age to the digital age (which I believe we are), then e-books will continue to grow and paper based books will fade. The best part of this transition is the ability of more and more people being able to publish a book. The cost of publishing in the industrial was (and is) immense. Publish books was a huge risk and only a few lucky authors were published. In the digital age, publishing a book is almost free. That opens the possibility of more and more people becoming published authors. The digital age is going to usher in an amazing time to be an author.

What do you think?
