World wide things were quiet. Nothing major from Ukraine, Venezuela, or the Middle East. Obama was in Saudi Arabia and there will probably be nothing gained as a result (just as there was nothing gained fro his visit to Europe). The search continues for the missing Malaysian airliner in the southern Indian Ocean. There are rumors once again of debris spotted, but nothing substantial yet.
In the U.S. the official death toll for the mudslide in the State of Washington has risen to 27 with many more still unaccounted for. Stocks were up a bit today on consumer spending numbers (who has money to spend?), but ended the week down just a bit. The price of oil was up a bit. Gold, silver and copper were basically flat.
So it was another day in the calm before the storm.
