News and Events

Nothing new in Ukraine. The U.S. Senate seems to have approved some kind of aid package. In Venezuela the protests continues. Three Air Force Generals were arrested and charged with plotting a coup. The Bolivar continues to lose value especially on the black market. Saudi Arabia is seeking more help for the rebels in Syria while the fighting continues. North Korea launched a couple of mid range missiles into the ocean as Obama meets the South Korean President and the Japanese Prime Minister at the Hague in the Netherlands.

In the U.S. Stocks were up on higher consumer confidence. News is out that Walgreens is going to shut about 76 stores this year though sales were up 4%. The drought in California continues as some towns and cities in the silicon valley are forced to cut back on water usage. In the state of Washington a mudslide has claimed at least 24 lives with any more missing.

Overall though, it was a quiet news day and another day in the calm before the storm.

What do you think?
