The Economy - BMW expands in South Carolina

BMW has had a plant in South Carolina for 20 years and is in the process of expanding it. BMW plans to spend $1 billion! First, why is BMW in South Carolina? I think it is because of several factors. South Carolina is a right to work state, so there are fewer issues with unions. South Carolina has lower taxes, so BMW keeps more of the money it makes. Also, South Carolina has fewer regulatory restrictions which makes running a business less of a hassle. Who wins? The people of South Carolina because they have more jobs, more opportunities, and a company that is investing $1 billion in their economy. Who loses? All the other states that could have had a BMW plant built in their state.

What do you think?
