The Digital Age - Education

I wonder when the internet will impact the classroom. I know it has indirectly already, but what will happen when it impacts it directly? When will we have webcasts as a regular part of the curriculum? When will we have instruction delivered by one teacher to multiple classrooms and campuses? When will we have fewer teachers and more “assistants”?

When the establishments decides that the best way to “teach” students is to control the delivery by having all of it delivered by the same teacher, then we will have fewer of them and more “assistants” to supervise. Is that where this is all eventually going to go? I have no idea, but the truth is that there is great “content” on the internet and it is better than what is going on in many of our classrooms. When that catches on, education will change.

What do you think?
