What should we do as a nation to help our economy? I think all we need to do is look at California and Texas. California has high taxes, high regulations, big government, large union influences, anti-business climate, and a growing welfare bureaucracy. What's the result? Slow growth, higher unemployment, higher crime, and a general malaise among the population. Texas has low taxes, smaller government, low and stable regulations, lower union influences, a pro-business climate, and a manageable welfare bureaucracy. What's the result? Faster growth, lower unemployment, lower crime, and a general positive attitude among the population. So which should we emulate? Texas of course!
