Probably the state with the best economy at this time is North Dakota. Why is that? Could it be that the state is allowing companies to drill for oil? Could it be that state income taxes are low? Could it be that state government is small and not very intrusive? Could it be that the welfare bureaucracy is not so big that is consumes much of the states resources? Could it be that public sector unions don't wield too much power? It looks to me that North Dakota is doing many things right and maybe more states should copy what they are doing.
