Chromebook - HP Surprised

HP CEO Meg Whitman is quoted as being surprised at how well Chromebooks are doing. She seems especially surprised at their appeal. Whitman states "It's a broader appeal than I originally anticipated or we anticipated that it would be." I think many people are coming to the same conclusion I did with Chromebook. If it can do what you need it to do, then why pay more? Most people just need a device to do basic computing. They really do not need it to do anything else. So why pay $500 (and more if you include software)? I think we are going to see Chromebooks from more and more manufacturers, which is good news for Chromebook users.

What do you think?
