The world will be very different 10-20 years from now. We will experience 50 years of change in 10 as a result of the world being connected. The Internet is changing everything. I used to think that computers were changing everything, but computers are not that useful unless they are connected to each other. The reason is that computers on their own only have access to the information that is stored on them. If computers are connected (like they are on the Internet) then they have unlimited access to information. Thus more can be accomplished with the connectivity of computers than without it. Yes, without the computer we would not have all the cool stuff we have today. But, without the Internet, we could not have all the cool stuff that is coming! It is the Internet that makes all the difference, not the individual computers. Connecting us all together makes us bigger and smarter than we could have ever imagined.
