With a newly elected president, separatists in the east wasted no time and took over an airport in the city of Donetsk. In response, government forces are attempting to retake the airport. So the election has not quelled the desire of separatists to be free of the government in Kiev. Will the violence spread and increase? A Chinese vessel sung a Vietnamese fishing boat today increasing tensions between the two countries further. Tensions between China and Japan and China and the Philippines are still high. In Thailand the military cracked down on protesters and continues to impose a curfew. There were no other major developments other than the usual daily murders, mayhem, corruption, and tragedies.
