My favorite day of the school year is the last day of school before summer. That was the case when I was in school and it is still the case now that I am a teacher. Having the Summer off is what makes teaching still worth it. If I did not get the Summer off I have no idea how I would take being with my students year round. I love them, but I need the space Summer provides. I just finished my 19th year as a teacher and I was truly blessed this year with some good students, some good teachers to work with, and a good administrative staff to support me. Here's to the last day of school and Summer!
