Ukraine

It looks as if things are cooling off a bit in Ukraine. Though Russia has all but annexed Crimea, it stopped there, which is a very interesting move for Russia. Why have they not moved into the rest of the country? Maybe they are afraid of the U.S.? I don't think so. Maybe they can't? Which might be accurate. The Russian military has been decimated by cutbacks, poor conscription rates, malinvestments, and poor moral. Maybe Crimea was all they could physically do for now? If you look at what they actually did, they just moved troops out of existing bases in Crimea. Russia did not move very many troops into the region. Most of them were already there. Now why the interest in Crimea? It's because of it's strategic position in the Black Sea. From the Crimea Russia can control all that happens in the Black Sea. That's why it already had bases there! No matter what the truth actually is, Russia has scored a major victory on the worlds stage. Lets see what else will come of it?

What do you think?
