Disney released their earnings report today. Revenue was up 10% and income was up 27%. Revenue and income were up across the company. Earnings from the movie business were up substantially thanks to hits like "Frozen", "Thor" and "Captain America". Media earnings we higher as were theme parks, video games, and consumer products. So things look good at the entertainment giant. Maybe people like being entertained to keep their mind off the mess that the economy is still in? It is interesting that Disney seems to be in the "positive" entertainment business. That is, most of what Disney does is an attempt at making their customers feel more positive. At least that is how I see them.
