It looks like there are three trends that will have a big impact on all in the future. The first is 3D printing. With 3D printing manufacturing will shift from the factory to the local store of even the home. What will that mean for manufacturing jobs? The second trend is the continued growth of the internet and the reality that more and more things will be connected. The internet has transformed several industries and fields. With the continued growth of the interned many more will be transformed. How will this affect the industry you and I are in? The last trend is the continued growth of renewable energy. Eventually all energy will be produced locally, or even at each individual home and business. What will this mean for utilities and their workers? These are going to be cool trends to keep an eye on. So what do they have in common? I think what they all have in common is the breakdown of collectivism and centralization with the increase of individualism and decentralization. In the future the individual will matter more and more.
