When the world transitioned from the agricultural age to the industrial age the transition took about 200 years and as jobs were displaced by machinery in agriculture, they were replaced by labor intensive industrial age jobs. The transition from the industrial age to the digital age is happening much faster (in less than 100 years is my prediction). As industrial jobs are be being replaced by technology in the digital age, what are they being replaced by? Not much! The digital age is not producing very many new jobs. Now that is going to be a serious problem that we will all be dealing with. How will we deal with the mass of unemployed that will occur? How will we prepare future generations for the digital age? How can we individually prepare for the coming digital age? Now those are some good questions to think about.
