The Economy - Employment Numbers

There are a few numbers from the recent employment report that are interesting. Did you know that over 800,000 people dropped out of the labor force in April? How do they come up with that number and why did they drop out? Did they all retire? 2 million people last their unemployment benefits. Wow, that is a lot of people who suddenly don't have any income. Will they be able to find jobs? Finally, those applying for unemployment has edged up to 344,000 from 320,000. That is still a lot of people seeking unemployment benefits. Though the employment report was positive, there are a lot of negative issues that have not been resolved. If there is another downturn in the economy, we are not in a good position to deal with it. Things could get ugly quickly.

What do you think?
