News - Daily Summary

The tension mounts in Ukraine as government troops made an attempt to clear armed protesters from government buildings across eastern Ukraine. It is unclear if they were successful. One Ukrainian officer died in the attempt in one location and it is not clear if the occupiers had casualties. It is also unclear what Russia will do in response. In Venezuela talks have begun between the opposition and the government as protests still continue across the country. In Syria the fighting continues with the government slowly gaining more and more control of territory held by the rebels. In Chile a wildfire has now destroyed 1200 homes and killed 12. In the Indian ocean the search continues for the missing Malaysian airliner.

Things were relatively quiet in the U.S. There was a shooting at a Jewish community center in Kansas. Three are dead and the shooter is in custody. Other than that, all eyes are on Wall Street as investor await what will happen tomorrow when the markets open.

It was another day in the calm before the storm.

What do you think?
