I have been a public school teacher for 19 years now. What has changed since I started teaching? I used to have more fun when I first started. I don't know if it is because the students have changed or I have. I do know that each year teachers have to do more less enjoyable things and fewer enjoyable things. Now with common core being accepted it is become even less enjoyable. Would I recommend for someone to become a teacher today? No I would not. In fact, I would encourage anyone who is interested in teaching to go and do something else. It's just not fun any more.
