Are we living in a time of peace or a time of war? If I had to pick I would say that we are living more in a time of war than in a time of peace. If that is the case, why in the world are we cutting our military to the same level it was just before WWII? Yes, the military is expensive. Yes the military is a necessary evil. But cutting it back does not make us safer in the times we live in. Unfortunately we have enemies who want to kill Americans. The only way we keep our citizens safe is to make sure our military is strong enough to deter any attack that might occur. When politics becomes more important than safety, and saving money becomes more important than saving lives, that's when things get scary. Did we not learn anything from WWII?
