Public School Education and the Internet

The  internet has affected so many industries. When will it radically change public education? Online learning keeps growing. At some point it will become more and more prevalent in public education especially k-12 schools. What does that mean for teachers? How will it all affect public school funding? Will public schools finally change? I believe that in the next decade or two we will see public schools go through dramatic change as online learning becomes an accepted form of delivering public school education. Having seen so many industries transformed by the internet, it is going to be exciting (and frightening for those in the industry) to watch public education change.

What do you think?
