I think we live in scary times. The government (federal, state, and local) is getting bigger and more and more oppressive. Instability is on the rise across the globe. Clean water is becoming scarcer. Oil is more and more expensive. People are angrier and more violent. Anxiety keeps growing. Things just seem as if they will fall apart at any time. I can't remember things being like this in my lifetime (48 years).
