Here is California we had a shooting at one of our Universities. A gunman opened fire and killed 7 people in a neighborhood just outside of U.C. Santa Barbara. I have niece who is attending that university. She is fine, but two of her sorority sisters were shot and killed. Another was injured and will recover. Needles to say, we are all shocked and angered over the senseless violence. Now begins the mourning and the questioning. Why did this happen? How could this have been prevented? Who is at fault? I think that the shooter is at fault and no one else is responsible. He clearly was insane. He also stabbed the first three victims so stricter gun control would not have helped them. The reality we live in is that you can't prevent crazy. There will always be crazy killers who use guns, knives, swords, bombs, and poison. Unfortunately it is the reality we live in. Can we do something about keeping guns out of the hands of crazy people? Maybe, but in a society that does not want to label or identify anyone, how do you do it? You can't prevent crazy and it is something we are all going to have to live with.
What do you think?
