The major story for the day was the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. I believe he was the most conservative member of the Supreme Court and his death will make a mess of things. What will happen to the pending cases before the court? Will Obama get to nominate a replacement? Will they be confirmed by the Senate? Will congress stall till the next president takes office? Yes, this is going to be a mess and it could not have happened at a worse time. How will the stock market react? Will the uncertainty lead to further selling? Or will this just be taken in stride and everything go on as normal? I think things are about to become very interesting. Besides the usual crime and mayhem, there was nothing else of major importance in the news today. At least it wasn't a quiet day.
What do you think?
